About me

Writing with science

Years after I received a PhD in physiology and pharmacology, I earned my law degree. I worked ten years as a patent attorney, specializing in biological, chemical, and medical inventions. After completing a Certificate in Forensics program at the University of Washington (Seattle, WA), I wrote articles on forensic science for Forensic Magazine, Forensic Nurse Magazine, Law and Order Magazine, History Magazine, Today’s Science, and All Points Bulletin (newsletter of the Northwest chapter of the Mystery Writers of America), as well as articles for the award-winning Encyclopedia of Forensic Science (Salem Press, 2008). I also wrote and taught the online course “Forensic Science for Writers” for about seven years. My science fiction/mystery novella, Thin Ice (2010), and numerous short stories have also seen publication.
